State Mandated
The State of Pennsylvania requires the following students to have a PHYSICAL completed by a physician:
- Upon original entry
- 6th Grade
- 11th Grade
The School District does offer at no cost to the family physical exams completed once a year by the school district's physician. If you are interested in having your child's physical be completed at school, please contact the nurses' office in order to have proper paperwork sent home for consent. If there is an abnormal exam or concerns by the school physician during the exam you will be notified and referred for follow-up with your child's physician.

- Kindergarten/1st
- 3rd Grade
- 7th Grade
The School District does offer at no cost to the family dental examinations by a dental hygienist. If you are interested in having your child's dental exam completed at school, please contact the nurses' office in order to have proper paperwork sent home for consent. IF there is an abnormal exam, you will be notified by the dental hygienist the need for further treatment to be completed by a dentist.
GROWTH SCREENING: (K-12th grade)
"Height and weight measurement shall be conducted at least once annually" and "Every effort shall be made to determine the pattern of growth for each child so that his weight and height can be interpreted in light of his own growth pattern rather than those of his classmates"
HEARING SCREENING: (K, 1-3rd, 7th & 11th)
Frequencies of 250, 500, 1,000, 2,000, and 4,000 cycles per second shall be checked during hearing screen testing. Should your child "fail" the hearing screening at school, it indicates that a more complete ear examination by physician.
VISION SCREENING: (K-12th grade)
Vision screening at school is NOT diagnostic therefore, should your child fail screening at school they WILL be referred for further evaluation by an eye specialist.
